| Breaking News | | Tuesday, May 25th, 2010: 6-Hit Game for Taveras It seemed that Colorado right fielder Willy Taveras could do no wrong as the Rockies kayoed the Giants 12-0 today as he rapped out 6 hits in 6 at-bats. San Francisco pitchers couldn't get him out as Taveras seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Rockies were stealing signs," growled one unhappy San Francisco fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Taveras in the postgame press interview.
W. Taveras doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
In the 2010 season Taveras has hit .319 with no home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 16 runs. | | Tuesday, May 25th, 2010: Rockies Santo Dominates Giants It was not a good day at the plate for Giants hitters. Most of them came up empty against Joel Santo of the Colorado Rockies. He held them to 4 hits and blanked San Francisco 12-0. Santo also chalked up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the game at Coors Field.
To this point in the season, Santo shows a 4-2 record, 9 starts, 60.1 innings, 35 strikeouts and a 3.13 ERA. | | Thursday, May 20th, 2010: Morales out of Action Franklin Morales at first refused to leave today's San Francisco-Colorado game after he suffered a damaged meniscus while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Colorado starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Morales out of action for 1-2 weeks.
Morales in 2010 has fashioned a 5-2 mark, 4.50 ERA and thrown 50 innings in 9 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .267 against him. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 25-25, .500 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 8.5 GB | | Record at home | 7-16, .304 PCT | | Record on the road | 18-9, .667 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-1, .667 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 7-8, .467 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 5-9, .357 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 20-16, .556 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 10-12, .455 PCT | | Record in May | 15-13, .536 PCT |
