Tuesday, June 1st, 2010: Viola Gets May's Top Pitcher Trophy
Pedro Viola hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning National League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice.

In May the Cincinnati starter earned a 5-0 mark in 6 starts. He threw 41 innings, struck out 26 and compiled a solid 1.32 ERA.

In 2010 Viola has worked 65.2 innings with 46 strikeouts en route to a 7-1 record and 2.47 ERA.
Monday, May 24th, 2010: Sanchez May Depart Cincinnati
Sources inside the Cincinnati organization have confirmed that Freddy Sanchez's name has come up in trade talks. They were unable to verify, however, that someone has contacted the Reds about obtaining the 32-year-old second baseman.
Monday, May 3rd, 2010: NL Names Best Player
Carlos Pena did nothing to hurt his value as an upcoming free agent last week, making contact with the ball at every opportunity and reeling in the National League Player of the Week Award.

The first baseman hit .542 for the Reds, recording 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

This season Pena has hit 13 home runs and posted a .423 batting average.
