Monday, May 24th, 2010: Howard Punishes NL Pitchers This Week
At the age of 30, Ryan Howard might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Chicago (N) first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the National League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 10 hits in 26 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games.

Howard is batting .275 in 2010 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 46 hits in 167 at-bats.
Monday, May 10th, 2010: Polanco NL's Best of the Week
There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Placido Polanco, the Chicago (N) third baseman, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the National League Player of the Week honors.

Polanco piled up 15 hits in 30 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs while hitting .500.

In 2010 Polanco is batting .389 with 49 hits, 4 home runs, 17 RBIs, 6 walks, .440 OBP and has scored 25 runs. He has played in 31 games.
Monday, April 19th, 2010: Polanco Slams 5 Hits for Chicago (N)
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Placido Polanco got one today. He scattered hits all over Wrigley Field to pace Chicago (N) to a 10-4 victory over Houston.

The Houston skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Polanco hit several that he is not supposed to hit."

P. Polanco singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off S. Perez in the 8th.

This season Polanco has hit at a .393 clip with 6 RBIs, 2 home runs and 9 runs scored.
