Monday, May 31st, 2010: AL Player of the Week Named
His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Dustin Pedroia was rewarded with the American League Player of the Week honors.

The scrappy Boston Red Sox second baseman hit .500 while collecting 16 hits in 32 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.

Pedroia is batting at a .300 pace in 2010, picking up 61 hits in 203 at-bats with 4 home runs, 26 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
Thursday, May 27th, 2010: Great Day for Kendrick -- 5 Hits
Los Angeles (A) second baseman Howie Kendrick could do no wrong in today's 10-8 win over the Red Sox as he collected 5 hits.

"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Red Sox said to the press corps after the game.

Kendrick agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

H. Kendrick doubled in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off M. Bowden in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Papelbon in the 8th.

This year Kendrick is batting .343 with 8 home runs and 41 RBIs.
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010: Injury Sidelines Clay Buchholz for Season
The season is apparently over for Clay Buchholz. The Boston Red Sox medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 10-11 months with a torn back muscle. Buchholz was hurt in the game against Philadelphia while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.

Currently Buchholz has a 3-4 won-lost record in 9 starts with a 3.70 ERA. He also has 47 strikeouts in 56 innings.
