Baltimore brought Howie Kendrick's hitting spree to a screeching halt today in its 6-4 victory over Los Angeles (A) at Angel Stadium. The Orioles mound staff snapped the 26-year-old second baseman's hitting streak at 23 games. Kendrick failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats to end it.
Kendrick is presently hitting at a .316 pace with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has played in 34 games and scored 27 times.

Rangers Ballpark played host to a command performance by Brandon McCarthy of the Texas Rangers. In shutting out Baltimore 13-0, McCarthy limited the Orioles to 6 hits. The 26-year-old hurler also fanned 7 and walked 1 in capturing the victory.
This year McCarthy has compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.67 ERA in 6 starts.
