Thursday, April 29th, 2010: Kazmir Holds Minnesota Scoreless
Scott Kazmir allowed 5 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 8 strikeouts as Tampa Bay blanked Minnesota 1-0.

In the postgame interview Kazmir said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."

This year Kazmir has a 2-2 mark in 5 starts with a 4.85 ERA. He has given up 29 hits in 26 innings, struck out 30 and issued 9 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .284 batting average against him.
Monday, April 19th, 2010: Rays Reliever Hurt
Tampa Bay fans will be disappointed to learn that Dan Wheeler developed a tender elbow while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Tampa Bay Rays manager that Wheeler was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

He has made 5 relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Wheeler has achieved a 0-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .182 batting average and posting a 2.31 ERA. He has tossed 11.2 innings, given up 8 base hits, fanned 13 and issued 2 walks.
Sunday, February 7th, 2010: MR Fernando Hernandez Ends Speculation; Signs with Tampa Bay
In a move expected to bring depth to the Rays, Tampa Bay brass announced the signing today of reliever Fernando Hernandez.

Hernandez will be pocketing $2,820,000 per season, an amount some BNN analysts think might be too high.
