| Breaking News | | Friday, May 7th, 2010: Willits Injured, out of Lineup
After the end of today's game between Philadelphia and Washington, Reggie Willits skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after making a defensive play, the Phillies had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The center fielder will miss at least 3-4 weeks with back spasms.
Thus far in 2010 Willits is batting .312 with no home runs, 8 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

 | Sunday, May 2nd, 2010: Viola Struts Stuff in Philadelphia Win
Pedro Viola of the Cincinnati Reds was quite impressive as he blanked the Philadelphia Phillies 6-0 at Great American Ball Park. He crafted a 4-hit shutout and chalked up 8 strikeouts with 1 walk in the contest.
In 5 starts this season Viola has fashioned a 3-1 record and a 3.21 ERA.

 | Wednesday, April 28th, 2010: Phillies Lose Burrell for One Week
A blow for Pat Burrell today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss one week with a strained hip muscle. Burrell suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Philadelphia Phillies are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Burrell's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
Burrell currently has a .284 batting average with 21 hits, 9 homers, 21 RBIs, 19 runs scored and a .411 OBP.
