| Breaking News | | Saturday, May 22nd, 2010: Braves Chill Morales's Hot Streak The Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the Atlanta Braves 3-0 today at Chase Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Kendry Morales's 20-game hitting streak.
"We felt if we could slow down Morales, we would win the game," the Braves manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."
So far this year Morales is hitting .341 with 9 home runs. | | Saturday, May 22nd, 2010: Zimmerman Hurt, out 3 Weeks Atlanta fans will be disappointed to learn that Ryan Zimmerman developed a damaged meniscus while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Atlanta Braves manager that Zimmerman was expected to miss 3 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the third baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
To date this year Zimmerman is batting .226 with 5 home runs. | | Wednesday, May 19th, 2010: Braves Wolf Has 15 Ks Randy Wolf of the Atlanta Braves struck out an amazing 15 batters today at Bravos Park and whipped the Washington Nationals 4-1. Wolf allowed 4 hits and gave up no walks in a sensational mound performance.
"I really felt like I had complete command of all my pitches during the game," said a smiling Wolf when asked about his stellar outing. "These types of games don't happen all the time, so I'm going to savor this one for a while."
In 2010 Wolf has fashioned a 5-3 mark, 3.41 ERA and pitched 58 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .210 against him and he has logged 62 strikeouts. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 20-31, .392 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 10.5 GB | | Record at home | 7-11, .389 PCT | | Record on the road | 13-20, .394 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 1-2, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 5-10, .333 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 18-23, .439 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 5-17, .227 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT |
