Joey Gathright really sizzled at the plate in today's 10-5 win over Mets. The Pittsburgh center fielder blistered New York (N) for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Gathright was too tough to get out today," the Mets skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
J. Gathright singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Currently Gathright is hitting .419 and has collected no home runs, 1 RBIs and scored 8 times, while playing in 8 games.

| Thursday, April 22nd, 2010: Year Over for Mets Gomez
New York (N) center fielder Carlos Gomez could miss the remainder of the season because of a fractured skull. He exited yesterday's Philadelphia game after injuring himself while making a defensive play. The original diagnosis said Gomez would be out 13 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
In the 2010 campaign Gomez has hit at a .326 clip with 7 RBIs, 2 home runs and 14 runs scored.
