"The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we may have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
Gregory Reinhard put together a very solid month to take home the Florida State League's top pitching honor in May.
The 25-year-old reliever threw with confidence some veteran's lack. In no relief appearances he raked in no saves and 43 strikeouts in 53.1 innings as he put together his 5-1 record and 1.18 ERA.
This season he has made no relief appearances, collecting no saves. Reinhard has worked 83 innings, yielding 74 hits and giving out 23 free passes while striking out 60. He has a 8-1 record with a 2.06 ERA.

 | Tuesday, June 1st, 2010: Thames Takes Home FSL Top Batter Award
Marcus Thames battered Florida State League pitchers all May and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.
"I've been around Florida State League long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 33-year-old Thames told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I may not take the field and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."
In 28 games, Thames hit .284 with 9 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 20 runs.
During the current season Thames is batting at a .288 clip with 17 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 50 games and scored 34 times.

The Florida State League has made it official -- David Carpenter is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award.
The Palm Beach catcher was sensational with a .474 batting average, 1 home run and 3 RBIs. Carpenter also had 3 walks and posted a .545 on-base percentage.
In 2010 Carpenter is hitting .377, batted in 23 runs with 4 home runs and 28 runs scored.
