There's something about a young rookie winning the California League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Faustino de los Santos, a 24-year-old starter for the Stockton Ports.
In May, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 1.25 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 43.1 innings, fanned 42 and held opposing teams to a .215 average.
In 2010 de los Santos has compiled a 4-2 mark with a 2.14 ERA.

Sean Johnson has a lot going for him. The Inland Empire right fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the California League has just picked him as its top hitter for May.
In 27 games last month, this outstanding rookie batted .345 with 5 home runs, 25 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
So far this year in 48 games Johnson is hitting .315 with 5 home runs, 30 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
