Domingo Baldomado has made fans throughout Southern League take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-0 record. No pitcher in the Southern League threw better in May, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 6 starts Baldomado compiled a 1.32 ERA, putting up a 4-0 record, striking out 46 and tossing 47.2 innings.

Brad McCann is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Carolina first baseman joined that select company when the Southern League announced the results of May's voting.
McCann totaled 41 hits, 6 walks, 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored last month to put together a .345 batting average and .381 on-base percentage.
This season McCann has hit at a .345 clip with 23 RBIs, 7 home runs and 22 runs scored.

 | Monday, May 31st, 2010: Player of the Week Trophy to Gómez
The Player of the Week has been chosen by the Southern League. The award went to Carlos Gómez, first baseman of the Montgomery Biscuits.
In a sensational hitting performance, he wrecked league pitchers with a .500 average to win the honor. Gómez went 12-24 for the week, totaled 2 home runs and 7 RBIs and scored 2 times.
This season Gómez is batting .272 with 46 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 19 times and has 23 RBI.
