 | Monday, August 17th, 2009: Hit #2000 for Yankees Abreu New York (A)'s Bobby Abreu entered the record books today as he collected hit number 2000 at Yankee Stadium II. "I am proud of this. Not too many player reach this level. You have to be around quite a few years and you have to get a lot of hits," Abreu said after the game. On his historic day he went 1 for 2 as the Yankees won 3-0 over the Baltimore Orioles. Lifetime Abreu has hit for a .295 average and totaled 2000 hits, 236 home runs and 1085 RBIs. |
